I had big dreams for this little film but they were quickly crushed when I found out you can't speed up clips with the '08 iMovie.  So sad.

Music by Portishead.

**Okay, I lied!!  Krista has found out how to speed things up so I'll have to revise this film.  Many thanks to her for texting me at 5:30 am her time with the steps to do it (I hope you weren't working on it that early!).  It's so nice to have a computer savvy person in the family... :)

Be Mine (by watching this film!)

Hi All!  Sorry I've been absent from the blog for a while.  I've been frantically working hard to get New Year's Resolution Number Three out of the way; I may be newly employed soon!!  Please keep your fingers crossed for me...

Colin and I saw a wonderfully put together movie on Sunday that I'd somehow forgotten to tell you all about: Blue Valentine.  If you haven't heard of it before, it's about a couple who married at an early age whose relationship seems to be falling apart at the seams.  It sounds a little sad [it is], but it's so realistically heart-wrenching and entirely enthralling--a must see.  It elegantly contrasts the couple's current situation with scenes from when they first met, emotionally engaging the viewers like no other (so eloquently put, right?).

After seeing it, I just wanted to hug Colin as hard as I could.  (You'll see what I mean)

Did I mention that Noah's in it (and by Noah I mean Ryan Gosling)?  Mmm.

And Michelle Williams' style is to die for.

I hope I've sufficiently convinced you to shell out the $30 or so it costs nowadays to see a movie...

With love,
Me

PS-Mabes has gotten into the habit of pivoting in circles with her butt anchored to the floor recently.  Should I be concerned about this?  How about the odd behavior of thrashing her head around like she's trying to head-butt invisible flies?

Mabel Syrup

The movie was SO GOOD!  Colin and I are going to be seeing it again.  The sound effects and the music were incredible, the plot line was a refreshing twist on the classic, and the visuals were... mmm!

While waiting for the gas man to come and fix our furnace, I put together a film of Mabie.  I didn't realize that I'd chosen a five minute song to accompany it (and I'm not technologically with-it enough to figure out how to fade the music out) so it's a little long.  Gosh, she's cute!

I'd always swore to myself that I'd never become one of those mothers that thinks that her kid is the smartest, most beautiful kid on Earth, but this obsession of mine with Mabel is making me think that I might in fact become one of Them.  Oh boy...

**I've posted this movie on my little sister's youtube channel.  Check it out here if you love to watch movies of adorable pets in your spare time!

Simpletons

...and I'm not talking about the dogs.

I would like to say that videochating Human to Pet doesn't happen often. Sadly not only is it a reoccurring event in our family but a highly entertaining and much anticipated one.  This was an especially joyous conversation as we rarely see any actual communication (or even acknowledgement) from Pet.  Mabel's acutely cognizant self definitely warranted a recording of the conversation as well as some blog space.  I hope you agree.

Once Mabel's iChat ended, she promptly scoured the apartment for the source of the high pitched squeals.  Much to her dismay, she did not find them in the kitchen, under the front door, or in the bedroom...

Right brain, do your thang

Music by Cocorosie

I've become a bit tired of taking the same old outfit photos everyday, and have vowed from now on to try to make the blog more of a creative outlet for me.  So tonight I present to you, my lovely readers, my very first movie!  It's not especially good, but it's definitely a start.  For those of you who know me well, you know just how difficult it is for me to master any new technology so this was a pretty big feat.  I tried to get some views of my outfit in the film; hopefully you can get a sense of what I wore today.  (Please excuse the poor quality; I used my computer's camera)

If anyone has any creative ideas for the blog, please comment with your thoughts!  I am very anxious to hear any feedback.
